The focus of Christmas is traditionally on GIVING and RECEIVING but it’s possible to give without connection, care or thought. Sometimes giving gifts or money can be a substitute for sharing and caring.
Commercial life too has historically been based on the idea of give and take – focused on competition, rights and winning. But SHARING and COLLABORATION are rapidly becoming the mantra of the 21st Century.
There is a sense that a New Revolution is sweeping the Globe. Some people refer to it as the CONSCIOUSNESS REVOLUTION, others as the BONDING ERA. There is a definite shift away from the destructive ‘old-mind’ energies that brought us to the current state of a globalized world, toward the ‘new-mind’ energies that will bond our diverse world together in coherence and balance.
To quote Kinglsey L. Dennis
The human mind is like a large pot that can contain the same water for all – a unified sharing. The road to unity – with diversity – begins with the need for harmony. With the energy of harmony we can make the water still and calm. Through harmony we can celebrate our differences with tolerance, respect, patience; without judgment, gossip, or ill-feeling towards others. With harmony we can begin to come together; to work together and collaborate – to build trust and vision. First we need to smooth out the energies of disturbance that exist in the world. This begins with harmony at home – within oneself, family, partners, friends, acquaintances and contacts. From here the energy that is harmonized can reach out, seep out, into the world and resonate with others.
In the year ahead, I urge you to join me in this SHARING/CARING REVOLUTION – to look for opportunities to collaborate and build harmony with your families, friends, work colleagues and communities. To be aware and attentive to the needs of others and the spiritual impulses that can guide us away from self-absorption toward the desire to have things work out well for ourselves AND for others
My Mother was a beautiful person and devoted herself to sharing her time, energy and gifts for the benefit of others. She was totally self-less and full of humility and humour. She was still cracking jokes with the doctor on her last day. Her light, love and laughter will live on in the lives of all those who knew her.
“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared” – Buddha
“Each individual heart which is not really divisible from the whole, shines with a light of great intelligence.” – Mark Sircus
